Tangrams for Beginners
Tangrams present an interesting way for the very youngest children to explore math through manipulating shapes and problem solving a simple puzzle.
Children place the various shaped pieces into the puzzle.
- Model your expectations by placing the red triangle piece on the puzzles matching shape.
- Hand the red triangle piece to child and ask them to place it on the matching puzzle piece
- Continue until all the pieces are in place
Note: This activity gives children opportunity to learn about colors, develop fine motor skills, follow a simple model, experience a simple puzzle, problem solve, and complete a task successfully.
